Jeffrey Macre
In cybersecurity since 2002 — from enterprise networks to the industrial control systems behind critical infrastructure — writing, speaking, and teaching about what actually works.

More than two decades inside critical infrastructure
I've spent more than 24 years in cybersecurity, with deep specialization in Operational Technology, securing the sectors that modern life quietly depends on, from Energy, Water, and Oil & Gas to Transportation, Manufacturing, and the Defense Industrial Base. That work has taken me onto plant floors, out to field sites, and into the boardroom, advising critical infrastructure organizations on OT/ICS risk management, governance, regulatory compliance, and the secure use of AI.
Today, I'm a Principal AI/OT Security Architect, focused on where the industry is heading next: deploying anomaly-based detection and applying AI across complex hybrid IT/OT environments. I write, speak, and teach regularly on these topics. My background includes an MBA, a bachelor's in business technology management, an associate's in computer networking technology, and more than a dozen industry certifications, including the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional), and PMP (Project Management Professional), along with credentials from vendors like AWS, Google, Microsoft, Cisco and Fortinet.
More than two decades in the field
Substations, steel mills, factory floors, data centers — OT security starts with understanding the environments you're defending.

Speaking
I speak regularly at the ICS security community's flagship events on the intersection of AI and operational technology — cutting through vendor hype to what defenders can actually use.
